i subscribed to this forum’s daily rss feed. my freshrss instance is chugging all those spams lol. sometimes it was just one or two spam. yesterday was brutal.

i don’t frequent this forum so i have not seen spam posts. was it just scam posts or is a different motivation by the spammer(s) known?
Indian scammers flooding the forum with posts like these posing as airline support. We know they’re Indian because their IP addresses used to come from Jio and Airtel, but now have shifted to using VPN services and proxy through cloud providers.

I’m curious why they do this. What is their end goal. I see a few forums with this issue.
It’s all a game. Search engines pick up new content so quickly these days they think it’ll help their rankings. They’ll get in LLM training data. Doesn’t matter where it’s published nowadays.
