Due to a recent influx of spam from numerous IP ranges, we may temporarily or intermittently enforce restrictions on new account registrations or posting while we figure out how to best block the spammers.

There is a Discourse plugin that can help registration spam. It requires a user to pass hCaptcha to register new account, wither with email or with SSO. Here is the link:

To fight spam posts, you can configure the Akismet plugin and/or the Google Perspective plugin and perhaps using AI to detect toxicity.
