Local HTTPS? Wireguard Docker

I have decided to install the root cert on my machine. Will the cert need to be updated?

The root CA cert has a 10 year lifetime, so… probably not. As long as the CA in Caddy’s storage is preserved (the caddy_data volume is kept) then it won’t need to be redone. But if you need to connect to it from other devices, you’ll need to install the cert there too.

Yup, Is there any security disadvantages to using the root cert. Can it be compromised?

No, it’s just inconvenient compared to having a publicly trusted cert, cause of needing to manually install it.
