I am running an old server of caddy server on windows i would like to install the the latest version do i just replace the caddy application file which i have tryed but caddy will not start or do i need to do something else to get it running ?
Aside from replacing the server executable, you’ll need to ensure that the Caddyfile doesn’t contain any old, deprecated configuration - assuming the version is old enough.
You say it will not start - why not? What does it output when you try to start it and it doesn’t start?
Try running it from the cmd (command prompt). You’ll get a detailed error message you can analyze or share here.
